Meet Denise Heifer, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Establishing her own practice, Emotional Wellness, which is located within The Spine and Wellness Center, Denise Heifer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in mental health and wellness for both adolescents and adults. Receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child, Family and Community Services from the University of Illinois, then continuing on to receive her Master of Social Work Degree from Marywood University, Denise has spent a number of years educating herself through both schooling and professional experiences. While attending UI, Denise worked with adolescents suffering from brain injuries for the Department of Mental Health of Illinois. After graduating from college, Denise went on to work for Berks County Child and Youth Services and the Reading Hospital; even more so, Denise has worked with not only families, within their homes, teaching parenting and communication skills, but also individuals and large groups who are dealing with addiction recovery.
Today, Denise works solely from her practice here at The Spine and Wellness Center where she supports a number of clients dealing with issues pertaining to anger, anxiety, ADHD, Depression, Eating Disorders, Grief and Loss, Addiction, Self-injury Behavior, and Family, Parenting, and Relationship concerns. Promoting Emotional Wellness through relaxation, communication, and coping techniques, and increasing motivation, self-confidence, and problem-solving, Denise has established an ever-growing practice for herself, where her clients can comfortably and confidentially express their troubles and concerns.
